Eclipse Soundtrack

So after watching the three movies last night - amazing, just like I thought - I cannot stop listening to the soundtrack! I know I mentioned it in an earlier post, but it just keeps getting better. I think my 3 favorites from the soundtrack are "Ours" by The Bravery, "My Love" by Sia, and "Eclipse (All Yours)" by Metric. These songs are really good and I recommend them highly. If you get the chance to hang out with me, please make sure you listen to them.

I won't spend much time talking about the movies, since I know not EVERYBODY loves the movies, or even likes them, but they truly are good books. And this movie was even better than the second one, which was way better than the first one. I think they did a really good job with casting a new Victoria, along with the new characters. They picked a PERFECT Leah and Seth. They were exactly how I imagined them. Not to mention all of the shirtless guys. And those who were shirtless actually looked fab-u-lous with out one.

One of my favorite lines from the movie is from Edward. He says to Bella, more under his breath about Jacob, "Does he even own a shirt?" So funny. Actually, the entire movie was very funny. Lots of action too, so not all romance. Especially the epic battle sequence towards the end of the film.

So I found out today my sister has a viral infection. She's had it for a little over a week now, and will still have it for the next week. Not so fun. But I don't think it is the same as what I had. Thank goodness!

I got a chance to visit with Linds, Lynnee, and Kelsey for lunch and some shopping today. It was great to hang out and see everyone. I have such great friends, and anybody would be extremely lucky to have friends such as them. I am extremely blessed.

I will retire for now - hope you have a wonderful day!

Working

I love working. There is just something about the feeling of accomplishment when you work hard and really feel what you earn.

I have "2" jobs. One is only once a week for about 3 hours filing papers for an insurance company. I like seeing the large stack of papers slowly dwindle down to nothing as they are put in their proper spaces. It is a wonderful feeling. I now have a really good method for sorting the papers. I sit in a chair and group papers by last name alphabetically. Then when I go to file it, it is basically all in alphabetical order so it works out very nicely.

My other job is for Root Candles. It is a store that makes and sells its own candles. But this is not some dinky little store that only has 2 employees and someone out back dipping candles. This is a massive store that sells everything from candles to home decor and even furniture! I love working there, but with the economy, they didn't bring back the college students for the summer. I was bummed, but I can see why. Though I am scheduled to work 5 days in a row! Woot!

Side note - I am SO excited for tomorrow! I am seeing Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse back to back to back at the theater with my neighbor! Woot! She just bought me a shirt saying she couldn't resist! I am way excited - it looks absolutely amazing!

Another side note - a new Harry Potter 7 trailer just came out a couple of hours ago!

It looks absolutely incredible! I cannot wait!

That's all for now - talk to you after I enjoy my glorious night!

Plugged Into A Wall

Sorry I have not posted in a while. I have had numerous troubles with my internet. It works. Kinda. Well, when you have an Ethernet cord, and can plug it in, I have internet. It is not so fun.

You don't realize how much you miss internet when you don't have it. I can't watch movies from Netflix from the comfort of my bed. =( I can't bring my laptop to my kitchen and listen to music from Pandora while cooking. I feel like I am in the confines of a 25 foot radius from our router. Not cool.

Last night, I was talking to one of my best friends on Skype, and I was stuck sitting in the living room. I wanted to show her my house, but alas, I could not. I miss being wireless.

I was watching a commercial on TV the other day about AT&T coming out with a wireless internet service. The dad was amazed that his daughter could be on her laptop without having a cord. Ah, to have that luxury. I am wired at school, I am wired at home... Not a fun experience.

That's about it. I was sick for the past few days, but I am all better now. Well, I am still VERY exhausted, but I will eventually catch up. I just got some new podcasts last night. I'm kinda excited to view them. I know, what a silly thing to be excited for, but I am.

I hope you all have wonderful days, and I will catch up again soon.

I'm Baaaa-aack!

Miss me? Of course you did! Well, probably not, but I can delude myself into thinking a thousand people are out there reading this, and totally missed me over the past few days. And a hectic few days it has been. Well, Monday night, we finished the office, but the cable still wasn't working. The cable guys was "supposed" to arrive Tuesday morning between 8 am and 10 am. So that means I woke up at 7:45 (UGH!) and went downstairs to wait. And wait. And wait. And wait some more. He never came.

So at 11 am, I called TWC, and asked them what was up. They apologized, and said they would call back with an approximate time of arrival. By 4 pm, they still had not shown up, nor had they called. So I called again. They said they would get an estimated time of arrival, and call back within 15 minutes. No call, no guy. At 7:45 pm, I called one last time. The guy, Steve, was some how able to do something Jennifer, Tina, and Brandi were not able to do. He fixed it! (Insert my sister quoting "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" at the part where Aunt Voula puts a flower pot into the center of the bunt cake and exclaims "You fixed it!) So we got internet back. Woot.

This morning, I had to wake up by 9 to get to the claim office to get an estimate to the damage on my car.... I was in an accident. And no, I was not to blame. I was driving down the Sam's Club parking lot aisle, when a lady in a tan SUV backs up and hits my passenger side front bumper. My first reaction when I saw her pulling out was to throw my car in reverse. My sister's first reaction was to scream at me to honk the horn. She honked it, but I was not able to reverse before she hit me. My poor baby now has a bent bracket in front of the wheel, and a damaged bumper. =( Luckily for me, I don't have to pay the almost grand to fix her. Woot for not being my fault!!!

So that's about it for now. I've been watching "Bones" and have become addicted to it. Great. Oooh, and I have set a goal for myself. I am going to listen/read 1 chapter of "Pride and Prejudice" every night. I have read the book multiple times before, but I thought I'd listen to it this time. I got a version for free from iTunes in the form of a podcast, so I'm pretty stoked!

Night, and sweet dreams!

Hard at Work

These past few days, we have been doing my Mom's office. That involves painting the top half a light brown and wall papering the lower half a nice green, and adding a border. But in the process of moving the furniture around, we no longer have internet service. =( Oh so sad. So right now, I am sitting in Panera, using their free internet, and enjoying a Mozzarella and Tomato panni. Very delicious, I might add.

When I called our internet provider this morning, they couldn't fix the problem. So now I have to wake up at 8 am tomorrow to wait for the guy. Wonderful.

So that's all for right now. I need to get back to eating. I just thought I'd give you a little update as to why I haven't been on. Hopefully I'll have internet again tomorrow!

Love

I have never been in love. I mean sure, I love my family and my friends, but I have never been in love with a guy. Sometimes, I wish my life was a movie, and my perfect guy would come waltzing in from the street to sweep me off my feet. Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way. I will be here, patiently waiting for the right guy.

I think one of the reasons I haven't found the right guy, the one who I will give my first kiss to, is because I wasn't in a permanent location. In high school, I had a boyfriend for a short period of time, but I realized we are better as friends. Which is good, considering the fact that he attends OSU. When I got to college, I thought I would meet an amazing guy, but I didn't. I mean, I did mean some pretty cute guys, and some really awesome guys, but none were the one.

I then dated this other guy, but I realized I didn't care for him as much as he cared for me. So I broke things off, and tried to remain friends with him, but it was too hard for him. Once I got accepted into my program at the main campus, I realized God had a purpose for me. He didn't want me in a relationship when it was continuously going to be a long distance one. So I know I will find the right guy for me. It might take a while, but I know he's out there.

You are probably wondering why this came up, out of the blue. Well, I was watching "Leap Year" with my family (ah, the beauty of Netflix), and since it is such a sweet, romantic movie, I couldn't resist.

Well, that's all for now. Talk to you tomorrow!

=)

Friendship

Is there anything as great as really great friends? Friends are what keep me going everyday, along with God and my family.

I went to one of my friend's house this evening, Lindsay, to see my friend Nadia before she leaves for the summer. She is working at Penn State, which, as you know, is my college. Since she will be there for the summer, we, Lindsay, Lynnee, Taryn, Kat, Nicole, and I wanted to say one finale farewell. It was so much fun to hang out and talk. I am glad we are such good friends still that it is not awkward and we genuinely have fun.

I was talking with one of my best friends, Angela, who goes to Penn State Behrend, my old college, and I realized how much I care for her. I will really miss her in the fall when I go off to State College. She went to dinner with my other friend Jess, and was making me miss Behrend so much.

To top it all off, my two old roomies, Maggie and Taylor, wrote to me on my fb wall (well, just Tay, but she mentioned Mags). I realized that I am so blessed to have a God who unconditionally loves me, a family that always supports me, and wonderful friends who always bring a smile to my face. And I want to say 'Thanks' to all of them.

Glee Finale

So, I must admit. I am a huge Gleek. And all I can say is wow. This finale was all I imagined, yet nothing like what I pictured it to be.

All of the characters have such a rich background and wonderful stories, not to mention voices. Everyone plays such an integral role to the show. And even the minor characters make it such a wonderful show. I will miss it over the summer.

Though, my only complaint is with the celebrity judges. They made them seem rude and callous, which I find hard to believe. And if Josh Groban and Olivia Newton-John are actually like that, I don't really care for them. Which is a pity, since I love both of their voices, Josh Groban's especially.

As always, whenever they give Sue a heart, it nearly breaks mine. Of course, the only time they showed it in the past is with her sister, but I am glad she takes her role as an educator seriously.

Enough about Glee though. I just recently purchased the soundtrack to Eclipse. I am listening to it now, and I really like it. New Moon's soundtrack wasn't my favorite, but I loved Twilight's. I really can tell the different vibes of the music, just like the differences between the books. I suppose it makes sense. I will have to listen to the entire soundtrack a few more times, but it generally is growing on me. Not my usual type of music (I am a huge fan of Glee and music like it after-all) but it's pretty good. And even if you are not fans of the franchise, which I admit spoils the books, the soundtracks are really good. Don't knock them just because they are tied to the Twilight name.

I now must make a second point. I like Twilight. I also like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and other series like that. I actually love the books WAY better than the movies. The movies are good for a nice casual movie to watch, but the books are different. While HP and LOTR are literally masterpieces when it comes to the books, the Twilight Saga is like a Hershey candy bar, as my sister puts it. Not horrible, but not the finest thing ever either. It is cheap, and good for a quick bit of happiness. If Twilight is a Hershey bar, then HP is a Lindt chocolate, still accessible to the masses, but a little more special. And LOTR is a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. Really good, but not for everybody.

So that is all for today. Except for the news that I now am a guide for ChaCha, a free text message/call answering message, which is uber exciting, I had a pretty uneventful day.

Have fun! =)

Day 1

Well, I decided to start a blog. I am not looking to change the world, just express my thoughts.

Hi. My name is Kristin. I am starting my sophomore year at Penn State in Architectural Engineering. You'll get to know me as time goes on.

I decided to start a blog after watching the movie "Julie & Julia". Not very original, but I like it. I doubt anyone is going to read my blog, but you never know. I just want to put down my thoughts and feelings somewhere.

I am deciding on what I am specifically going to talk about. My days are fairly uneventful, though I will have some interesting tales to share. I will probably talk about some memories of mine, my friends, undoubtedly, along as my tales from school.

I might talk about a book I am reading, or something funny that happened. I am not here to impress anybody, but to have fun.

So, with that being said - here is my first post. Nothing too exciting or special, but fun for me.

If you are reading this, thanks. I hope you'll enjoy my random thoughts.

=)
