Grades are up!

I said I would be back when grades were up, so here I am. I didn't do too bad. Wish I did better in Physics and Matrices, but oh well.

So let's see... I got an A in Statics, Calc III, and Studio. An A- in AE, a B+ in Matrices, and a C+ in Physics. I did better than last semester! That's always a good thing.

I really enjoyed Statics. My teacher was great, and I am glad I'll have her again next semester for Strength of Materials. I think it is a good thing I like this class, because if I go into the structural option of AE, it is what I will be doing. And my teacher is so funny. For lectures, she would bring in really big props to show the class. The people in the back could see them OK, but since I sit in basically the front row of all my classes, they looked comically large. And she knows that our time is valuable, so she will set an alarm for 50 minutes, and once it goes off, she stops talking.

Calc III, or calculus of several variables, was surprisingly fun. I think I like calc now. Who knew? But I think the reason I like it so much is because of Ali. She was fun, adorable, and spoke English. She is one of those teachers who makes learning fun. Plus she is really smart, so that is a bonus. She also gave lots of opportunity for extra credit to help boost your grade, which was nice. And she gave me play-dough. =]

As much as I love Studio, I do not love Rob. Ugh, Rob. Hopefully I won't have him next semester. Studio was a good chance to talk to friends, kinda chillax, and just have fun while working. I really like modeling, so that was fun. And all my friends have Studio with me, so that was awesome.

AE was a hard, but fun class. I really like Moses, but the topic wasn't too interesting. I know I am definitely not going into the mechanical option of AE, which is HVAC (pronounced H-Vac, not H-V-A-C). For those not with the lingo, that's "Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning". I don't think it is my cup of tea. Vitally important, yes, but better for someone else.

Matrices is not fun. Kinda worthless for the most part. My teacher, Jeff, or as I like to call him, Jeffy, was probably the dorkiest man alive. He was so awkward that it was slightly endearing. But the reason I got a B+ in the class was that I missed about 8 questions out of around 75-85 questions. The whole class was 350 pts! Blah!

And Physics. If Physics were a man, I would be on death row for killing said man. As much as physics is important in the real world, I really don't know why I will ever need to calculate the magnetic field of a current passing through a wire. As long as I know that it happens, and I might need to adjust things accordingly, but I am not an electrical engineer, nor am I an electrician, or a computer engineer, or anything like that. The majority of the class was not relevant to me at all. "Electricity and Magnetism".... I knew all I needed to know about that from my high school physics class. Even my roommate who is an electrical engineer said that class is pointless. But now I only have 1 half semester of physics left in my entire life. HALLELUJAH!!!

So that's all for now. I'll be back soon to talk about break!

Love you all!

Home is Where the Heart Is

I am so glad to be home. There is nothing quite like it. We are finally together, all of us, as one big family.

The food is so much better here, the bed, well, actually, I prefer my bed at school...., but the bathrooms are way better here. And I get to spend all the time with my family, both my legit blood family, our neighborhood, and my work family. I love all of them very much. And who could forget my awesome friends at home! Love them! If I could take PSU and plop in into Copley, my life would be perfect. =]

My grades haven't been posted entirely yet, but I will share, as well as talk about some of my favorite moments in each class.

As for the boy situation, I found out he just wants to be friends for now. Even though it hurts, I understand. So I'll either wait or find someone new. Which there might be a possibility......

Dinner is about to start, so I will run, but when grades are up, I'll be back!

Concerts!

Ok, to start this all off, there is a guy I like. I won't mention his name, but if you ask me in person, I will tell you. =] I have a lot of classes with him both this semester, and next, and probably for the rest of my college career.

3 weeks ago, I asked him if he wanted to see Inception with my at the HUB, since I know he likes those kind of movies, and I didn't want to see it alone. He said that he already made plans to go to the woman's volleyball game with some of his friends. I was disappointed, but didn't let him know that. Then, he asked me if I wanted to join them. I of course said yes, and that was that.

When we got to the game, I found out his friends were good friends from high school, and they were all really nice. We watched the game (where the Lady Lions smoked the other team) and then stayed for "Rally in the Valley", a pep rally before the big Michigan game the next day. After the pep rally was done, I was just going to go back to South by myself, since he hadn't invited me to do anything else with them. I crossed the street, ready to head back when I felt my phone vibrating. He was calling me to see where I had gone. Turns out, he was inviting me to hang out with them the rest of the night. I said yes, and waited for them to come over to my side of the street. We first went to one of the boys dorm so he could drop his stuff off, then we went down to Dunkin Donuts to get beverages and munchkins. After we got our food, we traipsed up to the HUB, where we played Apples to Apples till 2 in the morning. =]

The next weekend, he invited me to join him and 2 of his friends to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I absolutely LOVE TSO, so I was pumped! We all went to eat at East before heading over to the BJC, where I sat next to him. =] The concert was phenomenal! The music, of course, was incredible, the lighting and pyrotechnics blew me away, and of course, the company was great. He walked me back to my dorm, mainly because he lives in the same building as I do.... But it was still a great night.

This past week, we spent a lot of time working on a project for one of our classes together, so I was able to spend some quality time with him. 2 days ago, on Friday, one of his friends, him, and I went to see the ladies' volleyball team again (which we also crushed the Badgers), then we got food at Panda Express, and then hung out in his room watching TV shows on Hulu. Yesterday, we (the same 3 from Friday) went to go see Carrie Underwood in concert! It was beyond great! I really love her music! Her costumes were awesome, and she even had this thing where she rode out above the crowd in a blue truck! It was so cool! The only bad thing about the concert was that since we got our tickets late, we weren't sitting next to each other =[ but we were within spitting distance of each other.

So my conclusion is that I really like this guy. I just don't know for sure if he likes me or not. =[ I mean, I hope he does, but he hasn't made his move yet. I want to ask him, but I don't want it to ruin our friendship. =/ It is a tough thing to go through. I may have to invite him to watch a movie with me, or studying for our upcoming test with me..... I'll have to see.

Until later,

=)

I guess I can breathe right now.

Woo. In, out. In, out. Woo...

I can't believe I am way more than half of the semester done. Crazy, isn't it? One minute, and it is gone!

I am glad I am busy though. I have been having a blast (for the most part) with my classes. As much as AE infuriates me, it is a really fun class. Moses is crazy though. He always has projects due right around when he gives us exams. Is he trying to kill us? Maybe. Is he trying to weed out those who can't handle it? Most def.

Arch is also awesome. Except for the fact that we have been modeling for the past few weeks. And by few weeks, I mean every single week this ENTIRE semester. No joke. We occasionally take a day or two off and we go out and draw. Then when we come back, he calls our drawings "elementary" and we will never be able to impress clients with our skills. Thanks. And I would like to thank you Rob for teaching us every moment you can. And that's only when you haven't been putting "quarters in the car". I appreciate that. (Note, for those of you who don't know sarcasm when you see it. That was it. =) )

Matrices is ok. Jeffy isn't a bad teacher. He just likes to ramble. And he's a bit socially awkward. It's kinda hilarious. Matrices isn't hard, I just mainly have to teach it myself. But I don't mind. At least I can understand him during class. Which, as I found out, isn't that common. So I consider myself lucky.

I absolutely LOVE my calc teacher! Alli is like, the best TA ever! She is awesome, can teach, and I understand her. Plus, she always wears the cutest outfits. And she gave me Play-dough. What isn't there to like? And Calc 3 is much easier than 2. Which is fantastic. We just started partial derivatives, which are super easy. Thank you Mr. Andy George for explaining how to do them last semester!

Statics is just statics. Not really hard, though some of the problems can be tricky. =/ Oh well. I do like my TA, Anna. She's pretty awesome. And she's from OHIO! Which is like a rarity in PA. Prof Masters is cool. She likes to use big props. Which is good if you sit in the back. Which I don't. They are slight overkill when you sit in the 2nd row. Oh well, it is still cool.

Last, and least, is Physics. Lecture doesn't help any, the tests aren't like the HW (thank goodness!), or the labs, or recitation. Thank goodness for practice exams! And that's about it for that class.

Other than classes, work has been ok. I've been pretty steady. I pick up shifts when I can. That means I am working Saturday night, and Sunday morning. So no parties for me. =(

Ok, I need to go and work on Statics hw. And my drawing for Arch.... Blah...

It was good catching up a bit. Till later!

=)

I am so lost and confused.

I don't know what to do anymore. My life is all turned around. I am so stressed with school and life, but that's not what is getting me down.

I need to just keep holding on.

You're not alone
Together we stand
I'll be by your side, you know I'll take your hand
When it gets cold
And it feels like the end
There's no place to go
You know I won't give in
No I won't give in

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

So far away
I wish you were here
Before it's too late, this could all disappear
Before the doors close
And it comes to an end
With you by my side I will fight and defend
I'll fight and defend
Yeah, yeah

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

Hear me when I say, when I say I believe
Nothing's gonna change, nothing's gonna change destiny
Whatever's meant to be will work out perfectly
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

La da da da
La da da da
La da da da da da da da da

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

Keep holding on
Keep holding on

There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

This post is dedicated to one of my best friends, ANGELA!!!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love her. She is so inspiring... And that's about it. Just kidding, she is really amazing, and she touches my life everyday. I am so blessed to have her in my life. My year at Behrend wouldn't have been nearly as awesome if I hadn't met her. And I will update this post tomorrow, as I have homework to do tonight. But she made me post today because I would have an awesome title..... =)

And when I get back, I will talk all about her, when I came up to visit her, and Kennywood - so watch out.

Love you Angela!!!!!

=)

Edit: So I am back. I was in the process of editing this last night, but my  internet connection kept going in and out. So it wouldn't publish of save. So I am doing it now!

I can't tell you about most of the things that I love Angela for, since some are private and between her and I, and others are too long to type out. But even though our friendship has its flaws, and sometimes one of us gets mad at the other, we are still amazing friends. I miss her everyday, so it is a good thing we text all the time, we call each other when we are walking in the dark for comfort, and we have skype dates to see each other.

One of the biggest reasons I love Angela is her willingness to put other people's feelings ahead of her own. Even when she is depressed or sad, she still does not want to hurt me. In doing so, she often pushes people away that mean a lot to her, but I know she just doesn't want to see them suffer. I am so glad everyday that I know her and that she cares about me to push me away, but I am even more glad that she pulls me back in.

If you know her, you will be blessed. She is so fun to be with, and even puts up with some of my annoying quirks. She knows everything about me, and I know everything about her. There are no secrets between us. She knows just what to say to make me cry, though always in the good way. She has become a role model to me, with her never ending perseverance and love. I know she doesn't always think of her as this amazing Godly  woman I know her to be, but she is.

I know she will read this and probably cry, but it is how I truly feel. I love you Ang!

Here I Am. Back to College.

So, I had to post one more time before the month of August ends. I can't believe it will be September in about 10 minutes, give or take the time it takes me to post this.

First things first, I love it at State College. It is absolutely incredible, and I have had the chance to meet some really awesome people. My classes aren't too bad yet. Hopefully they stay that way. I absolutely adore my Arch 130a class - even though it is a 3 hour studio class three days a week, it is sooooooooooo much fun. I will have to show a pic of some of the things I am doing. I like my AE class, which is my Architectural Engineering class.

"Penn State Architectural Engineering - Where else can Moses lead you to the promise land?"

Our main professor is named Moses Ling, ergo the amazing line above. I like my Math 231 or Calc 3 aka calculus of multi-variables. My teacher is awesome. She makes it fun. Math 220 or matrices is ok - the TA teaching the class is slightly awkward, but he isn't bad. I like both my Statics recitation and lecture. My lecture professor is so funny and upbeat - just what statics needs.

I have met some truly awesome fellow AE's... Chris, Adam, Alyssa, Macenzie, Angela, Lowell, Chelsea, Nate, plus others whom I cannot remember their names... lol Most of them are transfers from Altoona aka Toon Town aka Tuna Fish aka Altoids... They are c-razy!

I am writing on my schedule to blog tomorrow about what I need to write from earlier in the summer. And tell you about what I've done here. In fact, I just wrote it on my calendar. So now I have to do it. =)

That's all for August. See you next month!

Life Passes Before Your Eyes - 5 Days and Counting

I honestly do not know where my time has gone. I have been so busy and crazy recently. Do you ever get like that? your life is so hectic that time slips away from you? Part of the problem why I did not post is because I did not have my computer, so I wasn't really on. And even when I have been on, I have only been on for a few minutes here and there. It's already the 16th of August. I leave for school in less than 5 days. And I have been lax about posting because lately I have lacked the inspiration. That needs to change.

I don't know when I will be back - hopefully before this week, if I think about it with all the things I have to do, but I am not going to make any promises. I will have to post about a few things.
  • My birthday weekend
  • Seeing Inception
  • Seeing all my friends
  • Packing
  • Going to Pittsburgh
  • Dog sitting
  • Root
Wow... at least 3 posts to get it all. But since I am short on time today, this will be a short post. I will talk to you soon! Don't let me forget!

Just a fun pic for some of my Harry Potter friends....
Adios!

=)

Oh snap!

I just realized that I only posted twice in July! Man that month flew by! I guess I really haven't been on the computer much since it is a pain having to use an external monitor and an Ethernet cord.

So, I have to send my computer in to get fixed. Ugh. It is such a pain! Since the screen on my laptop is catty whompus, it needs to get fixed before the warranty expires on Friday. Yeah.

I have a couple of things I should prolly share. First, I just had a birthday!!!!! Woot!!!!! I had an awesome fan-tab-u-lous day. And I will go into great detail tomorrow. Because I have to clean my bathroom and bedroom, both of which I started last night at one in the morning since I couldn't sleep. Joy. And I have to watch my sister's kids that she babysits for cause of her doctor's appointment. And I want to talk, and possibly show some pics!

And speaking of pictures, I really need to upload pictures to Facebook! But I have to wait till I get my computer back. Hopefully by next week.

Second, I am going to Pittsburgh next week to visit Angela!!! Only for a few days, but it will be super awesome! I can't wait!!! I will of course tell all after that trip, but I needed to mention it.

Oh great. There was something else I wanted to talk about but I can't remember. Ugh. Oh right, I remember. I don't really know much about my roommate yet - I think she is on vacation which is why she hasn't responded to my e-mail. I do know she is really smart and likes to read, which is good. I know my dorm building, which is cool. I need to start packing soon - the 20th will be here before I know it! Eeek!

I am 99% sure I am going up to Penn State on Friday - as long as I get my interview for that day, which I am hoping that I am! Besides, my family and I are almost out of ice-cream! We need to replenish!

I think that's about it for today. I promise I will post at least a short thing about my b-day as soon as I can. Technically my b-day celebration isn't over, since my family birthday dinner is Saturday. Which means I might be late to a party at a friend's house. Eeep.  I might have to adjust some things....

Well, I'm going to say farewell! Talk to you again soon!

=)

Life

Life has been crazy busy lately - hence, no posts. =( I apologize.

I worked a lot. Which is really good. I really do love working, and the extra money is a good thing. I am scheduled for more work, plus I am dog sitting for some neighbors, which is also wonderful.

Working at Root is a lot harder than it looks. Lots of hours standing, some physical labor, plus having to be friendly and happy all the time. But I think I do a good job. I will be working Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday of this week, and hopefully some the week after.

There was this lady that came in and wanted some votives. She didn't want them to burn black, which I told her ours didn't. Then she wanted to make sure the candles would smell like they did once she burned them. I kept reassuring her that they did, but I don't think she believed me. I am pretty sure she is from either New York or New Jersey, based on her accent. She kept calling me 'hun' or 'girlie'. It was really funny.

This past weekend, Kelsey, Lindsay, Lynnee, and I went down to State College to visit our friend Nadia who is doing research down there. It was so much fun. After we got there late Friday night, we just hung out and caught up with Nadia. We all crashed - sleeping on a hard floor is not so fun, fyi.

On Saturday we had breakfast at the Waffle Shop. Really good food - I really enjoyed it. I had a waffle - surprisingly, nobody else did. I thought it was ironic. After breakfast, we walked around campus, and I was able to see where my classes were held, which was really a great thing! The campus is so beautiful - I cannot wait till I get to go there! Since it was a hot, sunny day, we decided to go to the pool. We had such a fun time goofing off in the crisp cool water. Since Penn State has a diving team, they had the really cool diving platforms. Most people jumping off were just jumping, doing nothing cool. But then this really scrawny guy in a Speedo got up there. He did a really cool tucked somersault that spun about 4 times. It was really cool. After the pool (hey, that rhymed!) we went out for ice-cream. Penn State has the best ice-cream I have ever had! I had cookies and cream, Kelsey and Lindsay had Arboretum Breeze, Nadia had Peanut Butter Cup, and Lynnee had Death by Chocolate. All were amazing! After we got back from the Creamery, Lynnee and I got some movies from the HUB and we just hung out the rest of the night, after eating dinner at Olive Garden of course.

Sunday was a little slower, we had breakfast at Irving's, then did a little shopping. We took pictures at the Lion Shrine, then we went back to the Creamery so I could get some ice-cream to take home. Yum-o!

Another piece of exciting news - my roommate e-mailed me! Her name is Dominique, but everyone calls her Nika. We are living in Simmons, which is a Scheryer Honors College dorm. Hopefully it is nice. Once I get to know her a little bit more, I will fill ya'll in with the details! Till then!

=)

It's July!

I can't believe it is July already! It seems like just a few days ago, I was packing up my room ready to come home for the summer. Now I have less than 2 months home! Wow. The time has flown. It hasn't been all that bad, but I don't really want it to end. A lot of things will happen in July, and that will make it go by very quickly.

To kick it all off, my grandma and my aunt are coming to visit this upcoming weekend! I am very happy to see them. Of course, since they are arriving tomorrow, my sister and I had to clean the house. Ugh. It wasn't too bad to start off with, but there are still things that need to be put away which neither she nor I could do. So that's up to my parents. After this weekend, I'll have a few free days, though I will inevitably be seeing friends, reading, and, eek, cleaning my room. I really just need the motivation to do it. It is not that messy, but I find other things more important to spend my time doing.

Then I work again! Just for 5 days, but hey, 5 days is better than nothing. My dad's birthday is after I work, so we'll celebrate that then too. I will hopefully be babysitting 2 full days that week, and then I am off with 3 friends to visit Nadia at PSU! That will be a wickedly awesome drive and time. And since by then I will know where I am living and where all of my classes are, I can scope out the campus and figure out how best to arrive at my classes! Woot!

At then end of the month we will be visiting my other grandmother for her birthday, and then I'll have my birthday! And I want to visit Angela from Pittsburgh as well, since I won't see her next year. My oh my, July will be c-razy! But well worth it.

Side note! (Picture a former teacher Mrs. G tapping the side of her smart board so a music note appears) I am excited to have my first follower! Of course I know her, but it is still awesome nonetheless! I want to thank lynneelu for her awesome comments, even though the one from my cable story seemed odd. I'll have to inquire about that... Hmmm....

Well, nothing else is really up for now. I will probably not blog this weekend, as it is the 4th of July and all, with relatives coming, so if I don't talk to you in that time, I would like to say have an awesome weekend and be safe! Have fun!

=)

Eclipse Soundtrack

So after watching the three movies last night - amazing, just like I thought - I cannot stop listening to the soundtrack! I know I mentioned it in an earlier post, but it just keeps getting better. I think my 3 favorites from the soundtrack are "Ours" by The Bravery, "My Love" by Sia, and "Eclipse (All Yours)" by Metric. These songs are really good and I recommend them highly. If you get the chance to hang out with me, please make sure you listen to them.

I won't spend much time talking about the movies, since I know not EVERYBODY loves the movies, or even likes them, but they truly are good books. And this movie was even better than the second one, which was way better than the first one. I think they did a really good job with casting a new Victoria, along with the new characters. They picked a PERFECT Leah and Seth. They were exactly how I imagined them. Not to mention all of the shirtless guys. And those who were shirtless actually looked fab-u-lous with out one.

One of my favorite lines from the movie is from Edward. He says to Bella, more under his breath about Jacob, "Does he even own a shirt?" So funny. Actually, the entire movie was very funny. Lots of action too, so not all romance. Especially the epic battle sequence towards the end of the film.

So I found out today my sister has a viral infection. She's had it for a little over a week now, and will still have it for the next week. Not so fun. But I don't think it is the same as what I had. Thank goodness!

I got a chance to visit with Linds, Lynnee, and Kelsey for lunch and some shopping today. It was great to hang out and see everyone. I have such great friends, and anybody would be extremely lucky to have friends such as them. I am extremely blessed.

I will retire for now - hope you have a wonderful day!

=)

Working

I love working. There is just something about the feeling of accomplishment when you work hard and really feel what you earn.

I have "2" jobs. One is only once a week for about 3 hours filing papers for an insurance company. I like seeing the large stack of papers slowly dwindle down to nothing as they are put in their proper spaces. It is a wonderful feeling. I now have a really good method for sorting the papers. I sit in a chair and group papers by last name alphabetically. Then when I go to file it, it is basically all in alphabetical order so it works out very nicely.

My other job is for Root Candles. It is a store that makes and sells its own candles. But this is not some dinky little store that only has 2 employees and someone out back dipping candles. This is a massive store that sells everything from candles to home decor and even furniture! I love working there, but with the economy, they didn't bring back the college students for the summer. I was bummed, but I can see why. Though I am scheduled to work 5 days in a row! Woot!

Side note - I am SO excited for tomorrow! I am seeing Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse back to back to back at the theater with my neighbor! Woot! She just bought me a shirt saying she couldn't resist! I am way excited - it looks absolutely amazing!

Another side note - a new Harry Potter 7 trailer just came out a couple of hours ago!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EC2tmFVNNE
It looks absolutely incredible! I cannot wait!

That's all for now - talk to you after I enjoy my glorious night!

Plugged Into A Wall

Sorry I have not posted in a while. I have had numerous troubles with my internet. It works. Kinda. Well, when you have an Ethernet cord, and can plug it in, I have internet. It is not so fun.

You don't realize how much you miss internet when you don't have it. I can't watch movies from Netflix from the comfort of my bed. =( I can't bring my laptop to my kitchen and listen to music from Pandora while cooking. I feel like I am in the confines of a 25 foot radius from our router. Not cool.

Last night, I was talking to one of my best friends on Skype, and I was stuck sitting in the living room. I wanted to show her my house, but alas, I could not. I miss being wireless.

I was watching a commercial on TV the other day about AT&T coming out with a wireless internet service. The dad was amazed that his daughter could be on her laptop without having a cord. Ah, to have that luxury. I am wired at school, I am wired at home... Not a fun experience.

That's about it. I was sick for the past few days, but I am all better now. Well, I am still VERY exhausted, but I will eventually catch up. I just got some new podcasts last night. I'm kinda excited to view them. I know, what a silly thing to be excited for, but I am.

I hope you all have wonderful days, and I will catch up again soon.

=)

I'm Baaaa-aack!

Miss me? Of course you did! Well, probably not, but I can delude myself into thinking a thousand people are out there reading this, and totally missed me over the past few days. And a hectic few days it has been. Well, Monday night, we finished the office, but the cable still wasn't working. The cable guys was "supposed" to arrive Tuesday morning between 8 am and 10 am. So that means I woke up at 7:45 (UGH!) and went downstairs to wait. And wait. And wait. And wait some more. He never came.

So at 11 am, I called TWC, and asked them what was up. They apologized, and said they would call back with an approximate time of arrival. By 4 pm, they still had not shown up, nor had they called. So I called again. They said they would get an estimated time of arrival, and call back within 15 minutes. No call, no guy. At 7:45 pm, I called one last time. The guy, Steve, was some how able to do something Jennifer, Tina, and Brandi were not able to do. He fixed it! (Insert my sister quoting "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" at the part where Aunt Voula puts a flower pot into the center of the bunt cake and exclaims "You fixed it!) So we got internet back. Woot.

This morning, I had to wake up by 9 to get to the claim office to get an estimate to the damage on my car.... I was in an accident. And no, I was not to blame. I was driving down the Sam's Club parking lot aisle, when a lady in a tan SUV backs up and hits my passenger side front bumper. My first reaction when I saw her pulling out was to throw my car in reverse. My sister's first reaction was to scream at me to honk the horn. She honked it, but I was not able to reverse before she hit me. My poor baby now has a bent bracket in front of the wheel, and a damaged bumper. =( Luckily for me, I don't have to pay the almost grand to fix her. Woot for not being my fault!!!

So that's about it for now. I've been watching "Bones" and have become addicted to it. Great. Oooh, and I have set a goal for myself. I am going to listen/read 1 chapter of "Pride and Prejudice" every night. I have read the book multiple times before, but I thought I'd listen to it this time. I got a version for free from iTunes in the form of a podcast, so I'm pretty stoked!

Night, and sweet dreams!

Hard at Work

These past few days, we have been doing my Mom's office. That involves painting the top half a light brown and wall papering the lower half a nice green, and adding a border. But in the process of moving the furniture around, we no longer have internet service. =( Oh so sad. So right now, I am sitting in Panera, using their free internet, and enjoying a Mozzarella and Tomato panni. Very delicious, I might add.

When I called our internet provider this morning, they couldn't fix the problem. So now I have to wake up at 8 am tomorrow to wait for the guy. Wonderful.

So that's all for right now. I need to get back to eating. I just thought I'd give you a little update as to why I haven't been on. Hopefully I'll have internet again tomorrow!

Love

I have never been in love. I mean sure, I love my family and my friends, but I have never been in love with a guy. Sometimes, I wish my life was a movie, and my perfect guy would come waltzing in from the street to sweep me off my feet. Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way. I will be here, patiently waiting for the right guy.

I think one of the reasons I haven't found the right guy, the one who I will give my first kiss to, is because I wasn't in a permanent location. In high school, I had a boyfriend for a short period of time, but I realized we are better as friends. Which is good, considering the fact that he attends OSU. When I got to college, I thought I would meet an amazing guy, but I didn't. I mean, I did mean some pretty cute guys, and some really awesome guys, but none were the one.

I then dated this other guy, but I realized I didn't care for him as much as he cared for me. So I broke things off, and tried to remain friends with him, but it was too hard for him. Once I got accepted into my program at the main campus, I realized God had a purpose for me. He didn't want me in a relationship when it was continuously going to be a long distance one. So I know I will find the right guy for me. It might take a while, but I know he's out there.

You are probably wondering why this came up, out of the blue. Well, I was watching "Leap Year" with my family (ah, the beauty of Netflix), and since it is such a sweet, romantic movie, I couldn't resist.

Well, that's all for now. Talk to you tomorrow!

=)

Friendship

Is there anything as great as really great friends? Friends are what keep me going everyday, along with God and my family.

I went to one of my friend's house this evening, Lindsay, to see my friend Nadia before she leaves for the summer. She is working at Penn State, which, as you know, is my college. Since she will be there for the summer, we, Lindsay, Lynnee, Taryn, Kat, Nicole, and I wanted to say one finale farewell. It was so much fun to hang out and talk. I am glad we are such good friends still that it is not awkward and we genuinely have fun.

I was talking with one of my best friends, Angela, who goes to Penn State Behrend, my old college, and I realized how much I care for her. I will really miss her in the fall when I go off to State College. She went to dinner with my other friend Jess, and was making me miss Behrend so much.

To top it all off, my two old roomies, Maggie and Taylor, wrote to me on my fb wall (well, just Tay, but she mentioned Mags). I realized that I am so blessed to have a God who unconditionally loves me, a family that always supports me, and wonderful friends who always bring a smile to my face. And I want to say 'Thanks' to all of them.

Glee Finale

So, I must admit. I am a huge Gleek. And all I can say is wow. This finale was all I imagined, yet nothing like what I pictured it to be.

All of the characters have such a rich background and wonderful stories, not to mention voices. Everyone plays such an integral role to the show. And even the minor characters make it such a wonderful show. I will miss it over the summer.

Though, my only complaint is with the celebrity judges. They made them seem rude and callous, which I find hard to believe. And if Josh Groban and Olivia Newton-John are actually like that, I don't really care for them. Which is a pity, since I love both of their voices, Josh Groban's especially.

As always, whenever they give Sue a heart, it nearly breaks mine. Of course, the only time they showed it in the past is with her sister, but I am glad she takes her role as an educator seriously.

Enough about Glee though. I just recently purchased the soundtrack to Eclipse. I am listening to it now, and I really like it. New Moon's soundtrack wasn't my favorite, but I loved Twilight's. I really can tell the different vibes of the music, just like the differences between the books. I suppose it makes sense. I will have to listen to the entire soundtrack a few more times, but it generally is growing on me. Not my usual type of music (I am a huge fan of Glee and music like it after-all) but it's pretty good. And even if you are not fans of the franchise, which I admit spoils the books, the soundtracks are really good. Don't knock them just because they are tied to the Twilight name.

I now must make a second point. I like Twilight. I also like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and other series like that. I actually love the books WAY better than the movies. The movies are good for a nice casual movie to watch, but the books are different. While HP and LOTR are literally masterpieces when it comes to the books, the Twilight Saga is like a Hershey candy bar, as my sister puts it. Not horrible, but not the finest thing ever either. It is cheap, and good for a quick bit of happiness. If Twilight is a Hershey bar, then HP is a Lindt chocolate, still accessible to the masses, but a little more special. And LOTR is a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. Really good, but not for everybody.

So that is all for today. Except for the news that I now am a guide for ChaCha, a free text message/call answering message, which is uber exciting, I had a pretty uneventful day.

Have fun! =)

Day 1

Well, I decided to start a blog. I am not looking to change the world, just express my thoughts.

Hi. My name is Kristin. I am starting my sophomore year at Penn State in Architectural Engineering. You'll get to know me as time goes on.

I decided to start a blog after watching the movie "Julie & Julia". Not very original, but I like it. I doubt anyone is going to read my blog, but you never know. I just want to put down my thoughts and feelings somewhere.

I am deciding on what I am specifically going to talk about. My days are fairly uneventful, though I will have some interesting tales to share. I will probably talk about some memories of mine, my friends, undoubtedly, along as my tales from school.

I might talk about a book I am reading, or something funny that happened. I am not here to impress anybody, but to have fun.

So, with that being said - here is my first post. Nothing too exciting or special, but fun for me.

If you are reading this, thanks. I hope you'll enjoy my random thoughts.
